Job summary

Databricks is seeking an experienced State & Local Government Account Executive to own a designated territory and drive complex enterprise deals with government agencies operating under statutory procurement frameworks.

You will navigate multi-layered buying committees, engage with high-level officials, and promote the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform to accelerate data and AI transformation. Excellent execution in a fast-paced public sector environment is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of field sales experience, with at least 3 years selling to state and/or local government accounts.
• Proven track record closing deals in a regulated procurement environment.
• Ability to navigate multi-stakeholder buying committees and align competing priorities.
• Strong executive presence and ability to engage with Commissioners, CFOs, CIOs and Program Leaders.
• Background in big data, cloud, AI/ML or SaaS sales—ideally selling data and analytics platforms to government.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex sales cycles and present to C-level executives.
• Close net new accounts.
• Identify and close quick wins while managing longer, complex sales cycles.
• Exceed activity, pipeline, and revenue targets.
• Track all customer details including use case, purchase time frames, next steps, and forecasting in Salesforce.
• Use a solution-based approach to selling and creating value for customers.
• Promote the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform to drive data and AI transformation.
• Prioritize strategic opportunities and apply appropriate opportunities.
