Job summary

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Division of State Lands, Revenue Section, seeks a Government Operations Consultant II to lead revenue analysis, audits, and collections of state-owned land fees from Tallahassee, Florida. You will drive process improvements, coordinate with counsel, and ensure accurate invoicing and reporting for submerged land, upland, and commercial leases.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of data collection and analysis methods, and accounting policies.
• Strong communication, both verbal and written, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to organize data and prepare reports with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Conduct organizational studies and evaluate office procedures to identify opportunities for improvement and develop efficient processes.
• Provide consultation on revenue collection policies, procedures, and practices to management and staff.
• Conduct detailed audits and analyses of submerged land lease accounts to verify accuracy and support revenue collection.
• Initiate collection efforts for delinquent accounts in accordance with laws and procedures.
• Communicate with leaseholders regarding applicable laws and reporting requirements to promote accurate reporting and full fee collection.
• Prepare and monitor payments and maintain accurate account records for leases and related invoices.
