Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks a Startup Operations team member to act as a setup consultant for new Dedicated Transportation Solutions startups and ongoing field operations support. Travel is extensive (75-80%), with assignments to new locations nationwide for defined periods.

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma/GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain preferred.
• Two (2) years or more relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, warehouse or industry related field required.
• One (1) year or more direct supervisory/leadership experience required.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) is required; advanced.
• Logistics industry knowledge advanced.
• Knowledge and understanding of Customer/Company local and Federal regulations; advanced.
• Fundamental knowledge of Supply Chain Management components; intermediate.
• Strong knowledge of Manufacturing and Production; advanced.

Responsibilities

• Startup team focused on flawless execution and adherence to pre-established customer critical success factors.
• Ensure drivers and managers understand core operations and systems used for tracking compliance, driver pay, and customer billing.
• Act as an arm of management to answer questions and make quick decisions during the startup phase.
• Train new management team and Certified Driver Trainer group.
• Build out process flow and provide guidance on consistency of operations.
