Job summary

SpaceX at Starbase, TX is seeking a Welder (Starship) to build and upgrade structural stands, launch pad systems, and fluid components. The role requires welding across FCAW, SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW on carbon steel, stainless, and aluminum, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

You will work with an elite fabrication team to interpret drawings, implement procedures, and ensure timely, precise welds for launch campaigns. A high school diploma and relevant welding experience are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of hands-on welding experience in SMAW/GMAW/GTAW/FCAW (gas‑shielded FCAW qualifies).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Complete welding assignments for site structures, launch pad components, and fluid systems.
• Weld using FCAW, GMAW, SMAW, and GTAW on carbon steel, stainless, and aluminum.
• Cut, fit, and weld components to required dimensions.
• Collaborate with lead welder to ensure correct procedure and materials.
• Inspect welds per AWS D1.1 and ASME B31.3; obtain required licenses/certifications.
• Work in fast-paced environment with changing priorities and overtime as needed.
