Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Night Shift Welder (Starship Launch Hardware) to join our Florida team. You will weld carbon, stainless steel and aluminum parts using FCAW, GMAW, SMAW and GTAW, and help fabricate weldments from drawings.

Responsibilities include collaborating with the lead welder on procedures, planning work without complete procedures, and driving continuous improvement while meeting safety standards for an aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 1+ years welding experience in fabrication with FCAW or GTAW on SCH 10 pipe.
• 5+ years GTAW and FCAW experience on SCH 10 stainless/carbon steel pipes preferred.
• Welding qualifications per AWS D1.1, D1.2, D1.6, D17.1 or ASME IX preferred.
• Capable of tube/pipe cutting, grinding and fabrication with DC, GTAW techniques.

Responsibilities

• Weld using FCAW, GMAW, SMAW, and GTAW on carbon, stainless steel, and aluminum.
• Cut, trim, fit and fabricate weldments to dimensions per drawings.
• Review drawings with lead welder to select weld procedures and materials.
• Plan welding operations when procedures are unavailable.
• Improve operations, reduce turnaround times, and cooperate with the team.
• Perform related duties to ensure efficient and safe work environment.
