Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Welder for Starship Launch Hardware in Florida. The role involves welding carbon, stainless, and aluminum parts using FCAW, GTAW, SMAW, and GMAW; reading drawings and selecting appropriate procedures; and maintaining safety and quality standards on a fast-paced, multi-shift floor.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and 1+ year experience with FCAW or GTAW on SCH 10 pipe, with preferred advanced GTAW/FCAW experience and AWS/ASME qualifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 1+ years of experience welding in a fabrication environment with FCAW or GTAW on SCH 10 pipe.
• Willingness to obtain welding qualifications per AWS D1.1/D1.2/D1.6/D17.1 or ASME IX.
• Proficient in tube/pipe cutting, grinding and fabrication.
• Knowledge of DC, GTAW welding techniques and safety precautions.

Responsibilities

• Weld using FCAW, GMAW, SMAW, and GTAW on carbon, stainless steel, and aluminum shapes, tubing and piping.
• Cut, trim, fit and fabricate weldments to required dimensions.
• Review drawings and specs to plan welding operations.
• Collaborate with lead welder to select proper weld procedures and materials.
• Improve operations and throughput, and assist as needed.
• Perform related duties to ensure efficient workflow.
