Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Structural Welder for Massey’s Test Site (Starship) on the night shift. You will fabricate and repair ground support stands and structures for Starship launches, working in a fast-paced environment with strict safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include welding tasks, cutting and fitting components to precise specs, interpreting drawings, and maintaining high-quality welds per AWS/ASME codes. Overtime and weekends required; typical shift 6:00 pm–6:00 am.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• 2+ years of hands-on welding experience with SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, or FCAW, including FCAW-G; college/vocational training counts.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications under lead welder supervision.

Responsibilities

• Execute welding assignments for constructing and repairing site structural stands.
• Cut, fit, and fabricate components to precise dimensions for test site structures.
• Interpret drawings and specifications to plan operations and drive efficiency.
• Operate welding and flame-cutting equipment to join metal components for ground support structures.
• Visually inspect welds to AWS D1.1 and ASME B31.3 standards.
