Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Structural Welder for the Massey’s Test Site night shift to fabricate and repair ground support equipment. You'll work on stands and structures that support Starship launches, using FCAW, SMAW, and GMAW techniques under supervision.

The role requires dedications to safety, precision, and meeting tight timelines in a high-energy aerospace setting, with overtime and weekend availability as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of hands-on FCAW welding experience.
• 5+ years in SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, oxy-acetylene cutting and related fabrication tasks preferred.
• Strong knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, AWS/ASME codes, and aerospace applications.
• Familiarity with safety standards and high-stakes environments.

Responsibilities

• Execute welding assignments and procedures for constructing and repairing site structural stands and supports.
• Cut, trim, or scarf metal objects; fit and fabricate components to precise dimensions for test site structures.
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications under lead welder supervision to plan operations.
• Operate hand welding and flame-cutting equipment to join metal components for durable structures.
• Visually inspect welds to AWS D1.1 and ASME B31.3 standards and maintain quality.
• Maintain licenses or certifications as needed for safety and compliance.
• Collaborate across teams to reduce turnaround times and improve processes.
• Adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
