Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Platform Engineer, Flight Software (Starlink) in Redmond to own and optimize the software that enables rapid iteration and deployment of ground and satellite software. You will streamline build systems, reduce interface complexity, and partner with Starlink engineers to remove bottlenecks.

Aerospace experience is not required; we value smart, collaborative engineers who want to impact an inspiring mission and work across teams in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or STEM OR 2+ years of software development experience.
• Development experience in C/C++, Python, or other similar programming languages.

Responsibilities

• Maintain flight code generation tooling for flight software and GNC engineers.
• Maintain core flight software features shared across satellite products.
• Work with flight software developers to identify slow or error-prone aspects of embedded software and fix them.
• Invent tools and processes that enable fast, accurate, and easy-to-use development and operational systems.
• Engage ground software teams to understand where flight systems should be changed to simplify constellation operations.
