Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Software Engineer for Starlink Enterprise Products (Space Lasers) in Redmond, WA. You will own software across embedded, backend, and UI layers for laser, gateway, and aviation products, driving features and architecture with a strong emphasis on reliability and performance.

You will work on Bring-up, Operation, testing, and support, collaborating across disciplines. Prior aerospace experience is not required; ambitious engineers who enjoy deep, interdisciplinary challenges

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or other STEM discipline.
  • 1+ year of professional software engineering experience (Internship experience is acceptable).
  • Strong understanding of embedded systems and networking basics.
  • Experience with Linux-based development environments and debugging.
  • Ability to design for high availability and fault tolerance.

Responsibilities

  • Design highly available, fault-tolerant devices for millions of users.
  • Lead architecture reviews and code reviews.
  • Improve experience, reliability, and efficiency of Starlink products.
  • Develop prototypes and run experiments to validate design concepts.
  • Write Linux-based software for processors and microcontrollers.
  • Create hardware-in-the-loop testbeds and test cases.
