Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Flight Software Infrastructure Engineer for the Starlink program. You will own tooling and core flight software features, enabling rapid iteration and deployment for both ground and satellite software.

Aerospace experience is not required; we welcome smart, collaborative engineers who love solving problems and making an impact on an inspiring mission. Strong C/C++ and Python skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or STEM or 2+ years of software development experience.
• Development experience in C/C++, Python, or other similar programming languages.
• Knowledge of Bazel, C++, Python, Bash.
• Experience identifying and improving performance bottlenecks in build systems and embedded environments.
• Experience designing fault tolerant, distributed, or real-time embedded systems.
• Experience with version control, continuous integration, and continuous delivery systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment and communicate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain flight code generation tooling for flight software and GNC engineers.
• Maintain core flight software features shared across satellite products.
• Work closely with flight software developers to fix slow or error-prone aspects of embedded software.
• Invent tools and processes for fast, accurate development and operational systems.
• Engage ground software teams to simplify constellation operations.
