Job summary

CarePlus NJ Inc. seeks a STAR Passaic Recovery Specialist / Peer to support clients using personal recovery experience.

You will work with case managers, clinicians, and prescribers to craft individualized Recovery Plans and provide ongoing support in the community. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred), two years of recovery-principles experience, and two years in active recovery from a substance use disorder.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in recovery principles to help individuals improve health and wellness
• Active recovery from a substance use disorder for at least two years

Responsibilities

• Attend mandated peer training to delineate roles and responsibilities
• Collaborate with case managers, clinicians, and prescribers to develop a Recovery Plan
• Educate clients on navigating treatment, social services, and recovery supports
• Provide recovery support based on individual needs and preferences
• Work with the case manager to keep clients engaged in services for up to a year
• Reinforce that recovery is possible and built on strengths and resources
