Augusta University’s Medical College of Georgia invites applications for a Part Time Standardized Patient Advisor located at MCG-Marietta Expansion Clinic. The SP Educator recruits, trains, and coordinates standardized patients and helps run OSCE and simulation events for health professions education.

The role emphasizes quality feedback, performance observation, and collaboration with faculty, SPs and students to meet program goals.

Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent with at least five (5) years of relevant work experience as a standardized patient or relatable work in this field.

Responsibilities

Provides training of all standardized patients in case portrayal, checklist item recognition, physical exam procedures, feedback training and communication.
Operates technical resources to facilitate teaching and evaluation of students.
Serve as a backup Standardized Patient as needed.
Coordinates dissemination of activity material to SPs.
Assists in recruitment of Standardized Patients for scheduled activities.
Runs OSCE and other simulation-related events.
Plans and implements educational programs using SPs to meet needs of learners and faculty.
Prepares and updates materials for each SP encounter and evaluations.
Monitors SP exercises for portrayal and documentation accuracy.
