Job summary

Ascension in Austin, TX is seeking a Staffing Office Manager to oversee the daily operations of the staffing office and ensure shifts are filled accurately and on time. This role leads Staffing Office Coordinators across multiple shifts, monitors metrics, and serves as an escalation point for complex staffing issues.

Collaborate with recruiters and nursing leaders to align staffing with workforce strategy, improve processes, and enhance staff satisfaction while managing and communicating

Qualifications

  • Education requirements include a high school diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience, or an associate's/bachelor's degree with 2 years of cumulative experience, or 7 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.
  • Leadership or management experience is preferred (3 years).
  • Experience in health-care staffing scheduling is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the staffing office, ensuring shifts are filled accurately and on time.
  • Lead, coach, and schedule Staffing Office Coordinators to support morning, day, and evening shifts.
  • Monitor staffing metrics such as fill rates, cancellations, and response times, and address gaps quickly.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex staffing issues, cancellations, and service concerns.
  • Partner with recruiters, nursing leaders, and program leadership to align staffing decisions with workforce and labor strategy.
  • Ensure staffing processes, guidelines, and communication standards are followed consistently and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce premium labor, and enhance staff satisfaction.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 2 years of cumulative experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
What additional preferences we're seeking
  • 5 years health care staffing scheduling experience
  • Previous leadership experience preferred
