At Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, we take pride in providing quality care while fostering a supportive, team-first environment. We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Staffing Coordinator to join our leadership team.
The Staffing Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring our nursing department operates efficiently by managing staffing schedules, supporting nursing employees, coordinating attendance and timekeeping, and helping maintain appropriate staffing coverage across the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and update monthly nursing schedules to ensure appropriate staffing coverage across all units.
- Review, approve, and process weekly nursing staff timecards for payroll.
- Monitor and report attendance, tardiness, call-outs, and absenteeism to the Director of Nursing (DON).
- Collaborate with Human Resources and the DON to coordinate modified-duty schedules.
- Assist employees with leave requests, timecards, scheduling questions, and related staffing concerns.
- Post nursing schedules and coordinate schedule changes with supervisors and department leadership.
- Assist with onboarding new nursing staff by providing identification materials, timecards, schedules, and other required information.
- Maintain accurate records of nursing staff licenses, certifications, and other required credentials.
- Prepare staffing reports and provide recommendations to help address scheduling and coverage needs.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA and facility policies.
- Provide Unit Secretary coverage and administrative support when needed.
- Communicate staffing needs and scheduling changes effectively with nursing leadership and staff.
- Assist with identifying staffing gaps and finding appropriate coverage to support safe and efficient resident care.
Requirements
- Previous staffing experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) is required.
- Experience creating and maintaining nursing schedules in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.
- Experience with PPD tracking, labor meetings, and AHCA staffing reports preferred.
- Empeon experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of staffing requirements and scheduling practices within a skilled nursing environment.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic scheduling/timekeeping systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and make sound decisions.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information appropriately.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
