Job summary

Teradata Corporation is seeking a Staff Virtualization Engineer for the Platform Infrastructure team to design, implement, and maintain our on-prem virtualization platform. You will work with KVM, VMware, and emerging virtualization technologies to deliver scalable, secure infrastructure that supports Teradata’s hybrid-first offerings.

The role requires deep virtualization knowledge, automation skills (Python/PowerShell/Go), and experience with IaC tooling like Terraform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master/PhD in CS/CE with relevant work experience (7+ years / 5+ years / 2+ years respectively).
• Expertise in virtualization technologies including hypervisors and network virtualization.
• Strong scripting/automation skills (Python, PowerShell, Go).
• Experience with Terraform to deploy VMware components and IaC workflows.
• Hands-on with VMware ESXi/vSphere, vMotion, vSan, and vCenter deployments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, troubleshoot, and document the on-prem virtualization platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve test strategies and automation.
• Perform end-to-end testing for functionality, stability, and integration.
• Maintain platform security across virtualized infrastructure.
• Coordinate with DevOps to build test tools and automation.
• Address customer needs and contribute to product documentation.
