Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Redondo Beach, CA, Western Region Engineering, Space Park location, seeks a Systems Engineer 5 to define, develop, and verify ground segment requirements for a space system. You will drive MBSE-based analyses, manage interfaces and ICD inputs, and guide program maturity through SRR/SDR/PDR milestones.

Qualifications

• 12 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline; 10 years of relevant experience with a Masters' degree; 8 years of relevant experience with a PhD
• Experience with software ground systems for space missions
• Experience with requirements flow-down, management, and traceability
• Experience defining/managing interfaces and contributing to ICDs
• Familiarity with MBSE concepts and tools
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes
• Active DoD Top-Secret clearance

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ground element specifications and MBSE-based requirements/traceability
• Flow down ground segment requirements from system level spec
• Manage MGS spec requirements and traceability to all products including MBSE model
• Define and manage interfaces external to ground segment, provide input to ICDs
• Lead and participate in trades for ground segment implementations
• Lead software qualification planning
