Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Redondo Beach, CA is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer to define and manage ground segment specifications for a space mission system. You will drive MBSE-based requirements, perform trade studies, and coordinate interfaces across ground elements.

The role requires DoD Top-Secret clearance, extensive systems engineering experience, and the ability to work in a dynamic team environment within the Space Systems sector.

Qualifications

• 12 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s in STEM or 10 years with a Master’s or 8 years with a PhD
• Experience with software ground systems for space missions.
• Experience with requirements flow-down, management, and traceability.
• Experience defining/managing interfaces and contributing to ICDs.
• Familiarity with MBSE concepts and tools.
• Active DoD Top-Secret clearance

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ground element specifications and MBSE-based requirements/traceability.
• Flow down requirements from host/segment-level specs to assigned ground element.
• Define and manage interfaces; provide input to ICDs.
• Participate in architecture and implementation trades for ground frameworks and C2.
• Support software qualification planning and verification/validation.
