Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Senior Structural Designer in the US to lead planning, site evaluations, and the prep of proposal and construction documentation and structural plans. You will drive 3D modeling and detailed drawings for steel and reinforced concrete, perform calculations, and review designs for quality while mentoring less experienced staff.

The role involves coordinating with project teams, participating in client development meetings, and ensuring adherence toStandards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or equivalent with extensive detailing/drafting experience.
• Strong knowledge of structural design, calculations and systems.
• Experience with 3D modeling and construction drawings.
• Ability to lead multi-discipline project teams and mentor staff.
• Proven background in steel and reinforced concrete design.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of 3D models and detailed drawings for steel and concrete structures.
• Oversee drawing production, problem analysis, and design calculations.
• Lead design on a range of projects for power generation clients.
• Quality review 2D drafting and 3D modeling tasks.
• Incorporate project schedules, budgets, and criteria into designs.
• Train, mentor, and develop junior drafting staff.
