Job summary

The Staff Speech-Language Pathologist at PACS Group evaluates residents, treats speech-language disorders, and communicates with families and the health team while documenting services.

Responsibilities include developing and updating individualized treatment plans, supervising CFY fellows, training staff, and participating in care conferences to improve resident outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology; Masters/Doctorate preferred.
• Proficient in Net Health and Point Click Care.
• Ability to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
• Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, coworkers, and families.
• Mathematical skills: fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents to determine speech therapy needs and rehabilitation potential.
• Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans.
• Supervise CFY Speech Clinical Fellows and students.
• Communicate progress, goals, and discharge plans with physicians and families.
• Participate in Resident Care conferences, Utilization Review, and Rehabilitation meetings.
• Provide in-services on training programs for staff as needed.
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation in accordance with policies.
• Ensure a safe treatment environment with infection control protocols.
• Educate residents and families on goals, home programs, and safety techniques.
• Recommend durable medical equipment to support independence in swallowing and cognition.
