Job summary

Celestica is seeking a Staff Engineer, Mechanical Design to lead the physical design of our energy infrastructure portfolio. You will bridge customer discovery and engineering execution, serving as the main mechanical architect across cross-functional teams.

You will champion design for manufacturability, oversee verification plans, and guide junior engineers while traveling up to 35% to client sites and facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Master of Science in Engineering or PE license is preferred.
• 7–10 years of hands-on mechanical design experience in power infrastructure, smart energy, or modular equipment segments.

Responsibilities

• Solutions Architecture & requirement synthesis: translate client specs into detailed mechanical specs and ICDs.
• Advanced mechanical design & verification: 3D concepts, frames, sheet metal assemblies; FEA/thermal simulations.
• Technical leadership & operations: design governance, DFM/DFA, cross-functional coordination, and field support.
