Job summary

Celestica is seeking a versatile Solutions Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the physical design of our energy infrastructure portfolio, serving as the primary mechanical architect from early discovery through formal engineering execution.

You will collaborate with Sales, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and cross‑functional teams to translate complex customer requirements into scalable, high‑quality mechanical systems that ensure structural integrity, thermal efficiency and seamless grid

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• 7–10 years of hands-on mechanical design experience in power infrastructure, smart energy, or modular equipment.
• Experience leading proposals and engaging with customers.

Responsibilities

• Interpret specifications and translate into detailed mechanical specs and ICDs.
• Lead technical scoping for proposals as the central mechanical SME.
• Analyze architectures to balance performance, weight, cost, and manufacturability.
• Design and develop 3D concepts, enclosures, weldments, and sheet metal.
• Create modular mechanical modules that meet client standards and safety rules.
• Develop and execute test plans for verification and validation.
• Lead design reviews and enforce documentation standards.
• Drive DFM/DFA with fabricators and suppliers; mentor junior engineers.
• Manage project schedules, resources, and deliverables; support field deployment.
