Job summary

IBM Global Sales is seeking a Staff Solutions Engineer to drive data streaming initiatives and enable ongoing value realization for customers. You will partner with Account Executives to serve as the technical advisor, surface business needs, and craft designs that meet those needs.

You’ll help customers adopt new patterns with confidence and push for solutions across product and engineering teams. You will engage in discovery, PoC execution, and technical talks while guiding deployment maturity

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a Solutions Engineer or similar role.
• Experience with event-driven architecture and data integration/processing.
• Exposure to cloud architecture, migrations, deployment, and application development.
• Experience with automation, GitOps and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in Java, Python or SQL.
• Technical certifications in Cloud Development/Architect, Data Engineering & Integration.
• Self-starter with a drive to learn and tackle hard technical problems.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Comfort presenting to engineers up to C-level executives.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and drive value realization with customers.
• Partner with Account Executives to be the key technical advisor.
• Surface customer needs and design technical solutions.
• Facilitate discussions and storytelling to showcase patterns and improvements.
• Collaborate with Customer Success to promote adoption of Confluent technology.
• Build trusted relationships with customer stakeholders and partners.
