Job summary

Gusto is seeking a senior full-stack engineer to own and build backend services and rich frontend experiences for retirement savings. You will partner with product, design, compliance, and operations to translate complex financial requirements into reliable software.

You’ll own end-to-end work, apply AI to reduce saver effort, and help drive scalable solutions across a fast-growing platform that serves over a million savers and entrepreneurs.

Qualifications

• Eight-plus years of software engineering experience building and shipping production products or platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and test end-to-end features for retirement-saving products.
• Contribute to the architecture of existing systems to support new capabilities.
• Apply AI tools as part of the engineering workflow to improve saver experiences.
• Own production support and operational tooling; ensure reliability and observability.
• Collaborate with PMs, Design, Compliance, and Operations across teams.
