Gusto is hiring a senior full-stack engineer to own backend services and APIs, building interfaces for savers to manage retirement accounts, and integrating AI tooling into daily workflows.

You’ll collaborate with Product, Design, Compliance, and Operations to translate complex financial requirements into reliable software. This role offers hands-on coding and a measurable impact on customers’ financial lives.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience delivering production products or platforms.
• Experience with services and APIs.
• Experience with message-based systems (Sidekiq, Kafka, etc.).
• Comfortable owning systems end-to-end including production support.

Responsabilités

• Design, build, and test experiences for savers to manage 401(k)s, IRAs, and more.
• Contribute to the architecture of existing systems to support new capabilities.
• Apply AI tools regularly to engineering workflow and product decisions.
