Job summary

Seqera is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own the low-level systems powering scientific workloads in the cloud. You will work on Fusion, Fusion Snapshots, Ignite, and Sched, shaping the architecture and pushing code quality and reliability.

You will write Go and C/C++ today, with Rust or JVM where needed, and collaborate across AWS/Azure/GCP multi-cloud environments while mentoring teammates and driving performance engineering.

Qualifications

• Production-grade systems software with staff-level ownership.
• Strong Go and C/C++ background, close to OS.
• Deep Linux internals: filesystems, namespaces, processes, signals.
• Distributed/cloud-native systems across multiple clouds.
• Clear, well-tested code with strong debugging.
• Comfort with ambiguity and independent work; open to AI.
• Experience with container runtimes and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own low-level systems across Fusion, Fusion Snapshots, Ignite, and Sched.
• Write reliable, well-tested Go and C/C++ code; Groovy/Java where needed.
• Work near the OS: FUSE, Linux namespaces, CRIU, and process supervision.
• Handle multi-cloud orchestration across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Drive performance via I/O, caching, and bandwidth management.
• Set technical direction and raise testing and observability standards.
• Mentor teammates and onboard new engineers.
