Job summary

SPD Technology is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our global team. You will lead architectural decisions, design and implement scalable microservices, and drive cloud-native solutions using Java, Spring, Kafka, and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

Degree in CS or related field or equivalent experience.
6+ years in software engineering with Java or an OO language.
3+ years building microservices and cloud-based distributed systems.
Experience with SOA, domain-driven design, clean/hexagonal architectures.
Experience with GCP or AWS and container orchestration.
Strong communication and leadership across teams.

Responsibilities

Solve strategic engineering problems hands-on; build prototypes and reference implementations.
Architect, implement, test, and maintain services and platform components, including backend and frontend concerns.
Design and implement AI-based architectural conformance checks and fitness functions.
Define measurable quality goals: performance, scalability, reliability, security, maintainability.
Provide architecture reviews and coach engineers across multiple teams.
