Job description

Responsibilities

• Own a large portion of a product and deliver features end‑to‑end, wearing traditionally product and design hats.
• Research competitors, write product specs, make wireframes, and prototype solutions.
• Develop and ship reusable building blocks across the stack, from frontend to infrastructure.
• Own end‑to‑end projects: from user research to implementation, including integration with other features.

Key Contributions (Examples)

• Designed and built automated interview scheduling, automating time‑slot calculations and candidate selection through a responsive web app.
• Built a declarative filter architecture for complex record filtering, compiling UI queries to backend SQL.
• Specced, designed, and implemented fully integrated offer‑signing within Ashby, coordinating with customers and cross‑team integration.

Qualifications & Experience

• Full‑stack product engineering experience with the ability to tackle any part of a technology stack.
• Experience delivering with product and technical ambiguity, building powerful abstractions and flexible systems.
• Solid balance of speed and quality, with a record of shipping high‑quality products under tight timelines.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder vetting skills.
• Proven ability to create leverage through automation, tooling, and abstractions.
• Deep familiarity with modern tooling: CI/CD, debugging, design systems, and developer experience improvements.

Technical Stack

TypeScript (frontend & backend), React, GraphQL, Node.js, Postgres, Redis.

Prior experience with any typed language is valuable; we prioritize fundamental skills and speed of learning.
