About the Role

At Ashby, we’re building an environment that is optimistic about what engineers can own and achieve. As a Product Engineer, you’ll take ownership over a large portion of one of our products and own projects end‑to‑end—wearing the hats traditionally worn by product and design.

Responsibilities

• Research competitors and write product specifications.
• Create wireframes and design user interfaces.
• Build and ship features that require cross‑functional collaboration with product, design, and engineering teams.
• Develop reusable building blocks across the stack to maximize efficiency.
• Implement complex data filters and declarative architectures that compile to SQL on the backend.
• Automate workflows such as interview scheduling, offer signing, and other talent‑acquisition specific functionalities.
• Work closely with customers and stakeholders to refine requirements and ensure the solution meets business needs.

• Comfortable tackling any part of the technology stack, from frontend to new infrastructure.
• Experience with projects that involve significant product and technical ambiguity.
• Strong balance of speed and quality—able to deliver high‑quality code rapidly.
