About the Role
At Ashby, we’re building an environment that is optimistic about what engineers can own and achieve. As a Product Engineer, you’ll take ownership over a large portion of one of our products and own projects end‑to‑end—wearing the hats traditionally worn by product and design.
Responsibilities
- Research competitors and write product specifications.
- Create wireframes and design user interfaces.
- Build and ship features that require cross‑functional collaboration with product, design, and engineering teams.
- Develop reusable building blocks across the stack to maximize efficiency.
- Implement complex data filters and declarative architectures that compile to SQL on the backend.
- Automate workflows such as interview scheduling, offer signing, and other talent‑acquisition specific functionalities.
- Work closely with customers and stakeholders to refine requirements and ensure the solution meets business needs.
Qualifications
- Comfortable tackling any part of the technology stack, from frontend to new infrastructure.
- Experience with projects that involve significant product and technical ambiguity.
- Strong balance of speed and quality—able to deliver high‑quality code rapidly.
- Self‑motivated and eager to improve skills; comfortable receiving and giving feedback.
- Excellent collaborator and communicator with the ability to vet decisions with stakeholders.
- Proactive problem‑solver who creates new abstractions, tools, and lint rules to simplify engineering tasks.
