Job summary

Commure is building the AI Operating System for healthcare, delivering ambient AI, intelligent agents, and autonomous RCM on a unified platform. The Staff Software Engineer role in the Frameworks Team focuses on secure, scalable authentication systems and shared services across engineering squads.

You will shape core platform direction, drive secure-by-default design, and mentor engineers while delivering durable patterns used across the company.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience in production systems.
• Strong experience with authentication/authorization systems including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWTs, session and token management.
• Deep expertise in backend and distributed systems (APIs, databases, caching, async processing, cloud-native).
• Strong security fundamentals and trust-boundary reasoning; balance security with reliability and velocity.
• Experience leading large multi-component initiatives across teams.
• Operational/platform mindset: Kubernetes, IaC, observability, CI/CD, safe migrations, production reliability.
• Ability to mentor engineers, lead reviews, and raise technical bar with reusable tooling.
• Ownership mindset with end-to-end accountability across architecture and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve authentication/authorization architectures across multiple products and services.
• Design secure identity workflows, including OAuth2.0/OIDC, token issuance/validation, and service-to-service authentication.
• Lead design and evolution of shared platform services and reusable patterns.
• Improve application performance and scalability by addressing bottlenecks across APIs, databases, caching, and services.
• Enhance developer productivity via CI/CD improvements, tooling, and self-service platforms.
• Set observability and operational readiness standards (monitoring, logging, tracing, SLOs, robust rollouts).
• Collaborate with platform/product teams to protect data and meet regulatory requirements.
• Lead cross-team initiatives from architecture through production rollout.
• Make pragmatic decisions balancing security, correctness, reliability, performance, and speed.
• Mentor staff engineers and raise the technical bar through reviews and direction.
• Maintain end-to-end ownership in a fast-moving environment.
