Job summary

Reserv is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to drive the technology and platform, leading large-scale projects from front-end to back-end. You will own features end-to-end with a focus on scalable APIs, developer experience, and customer integrations.

You will collaborate with product, design, and sales teams, mentor junior engineers, and communicate complex ideas with clarity to executives. This role emphasizes ownership, creativity, and thoughtful engineering in a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years as an individual contributor with experience using modern programming languages and front-end frameworks.
• Proven ability to ship high-quality products, including side-projects or open-source repos.
• Passion for building intuitive technology and a thirst for learning.
• Ability to think through customer requirements and prioritize must-have vs nice-to-have vs irrelevant.
• Willingness and ability to take over tasks outside your core competency.

Responsibilities

• Define the vision around delivering business-impacting goals.
• Lead large cross-functional, high-impact projects and mitigate risk.
• Communicate clearly with executive stakeholders.
• Build frontend and backend components across the stack (Rails, Postgres, TS/React, GraphQL, NextJS, AWS).
• Ship code that improves developer experience and product integrations.
• Collaborate with product ops, design, and sales; mentor junior engineers.
• Write precise specifications and contribute to a growing engineering culture.
