Job summary

Unite Us is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to provide senior technical leadership for Platform Services, the core APIs powering the Unite Us product suite. This is a senior individual-contributor role focused on architecture, quality, and hands-on delivery.

You will mentor engineers, define technical standards, and translate business priorities into a concrete technical roadmap, while collaborating across teams to ensure scalable, secure systems. Remote role (U.S.

Qualifications

7-8+ years of software engineering experience with increasing scope and ownership.
Experience leading design and delivery of complex, large-scale, cross-team initiatives.
Deep understanding of CS fundamentals and building distributed backend systems and APIs.
Strong track record mentoring engineers and raising technical standards.
Experience with cloud-based SaaS development and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

Own and evolve the technical architecture of Platform Services' core APIs and interoperability solutions.
Lead design and delivery of cross-cutting technical initiatives (e.g., FHIR-based interoperability, authentication frameworks such as SAML, SCIM, OAuth, SMART).
Set technical standards and review designs to ensure quality and maintainability.
Mentor engineers and facilitate reasoning through design trade-offs.
Partner with leadership to translate roadmap into concrete technical plans and surface risks early.
