Slate Auto in the United States is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the technical design of key systems across our digital platform. We’re building a direct-to-consumer EV brand from the ground up, and our software connects customers to their Slate from discovery to ownership.

You will design and evolve major systems, oversee code quality and testing, and make critical decisions that balance speed with long‑term technical excellence.

Formación

• 10+ years of professional software development experience building and operating scalable, customer-facing software systems.
• Technical leadership experience, including designing architecture, making complex trade-offs, and driving engineering decisions across teams.
• Experience designing and building reliable, scalable distributed systems, including web services, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
• Proven ability to work through ambiguity, simplify complex problems, and deliver high-quality solutions in fast-paced environments.
• Experience integrating third-party platforms and SaaS products through APIs, events, and webhooks.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the design, architecture, implementation, and delivery of major systems and initiatives that span multiple teams.
• Code and test system components, leading code and design reviews and bringing significant designs to technical committee review.
• Own code quality, system tests, functional tests, and integration for the systems you build and the interfaces between them.
• Relentlessly simplify, bringing creativity and sound judgement to significant, ambiguous problems.
• Collaborate with UX and product teams to build and invent new solutions that put customers first.
• Provide technical authority and advise on difficult trade-offs across groups.
• Shape company technical objectives and build networks to align direction.
• Mentor engineers to raise the technical bar.
