Job summary

Slate is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to design and deliver features for its direct-to-consumer EV platform. You will own end-to-end delivery, work with product and UX, and influence customer experience across discovering, customizing, and owning their Slate.

The role requires 6+ years building customer-facing software, scalable web services and APIs, and working with cloud infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience owning the design and delivery of complex features.
• Experience building reliable, scalable web services and APIs.
• Ability to solve complex problems with minimal direction.
• Experience integrating third-party services via APIs, events, or webhooks.
• Experience with ecommerce or marketplace systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deliver complex features and services; decide technical approach.
• Code and test system components; provide code/design reviews.
• Own end-to-end quality including unit, functional, integration tests.
• Simplify complex problems and apply good judgement.
• Collaborate with UX and product teams to turn customer needs into solutions.
• Be a trusted technical resource and manage trade-offs.
• Understand impact of technical choices on customers and business; raise risks early.
• Build relationships beyond your area; coordinate work and mentor team.
