Job summary

BD is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design, build, and support scalable software that integrates EHR systems with cloud apps. You will lead across the full stack, architect distributed systems, and guide teams through design, deployment, and production support.

Ideal candidates have deep healthcare tech experience, cloud-native development skills, and a focus on scalability, reliability, and customer experience; experience with AWS, Java, React, JavaScript, RESTful APIs, and HL7/FHIR is

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including large-scale healthcare software.
• 2+ years deploying and supporting production systems in AWS.
• Experience providing technical leadership to engineers on software deliverables.
• Experience designing cloud-based services using AWS.
• Experience with HL7/FHIR and healthcare interoperability.
• Strong debugging, testing, and code quality practices.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of the Agile software development lifecycle.
• Architect and guide development of end-to-end distributed systems for performance and scalability.
• Design and maintain applications using Go, Java, React, and JavaScript.
• Design and integrate RESTful APIs for healthcare and cloud apps.
• Develop healthcare interoperability solutions using HL7 and FHIR.
• Build scalable cloud services and workflows with AWS.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across engineering and product teams.
• Balance user experience with technical requirements and tradeoffs.
• Ensure high standards for architecture, code quality, and documentation.
• Support production apps with uptime and reliability focus.
