Job summary

BD is seeking a hands-on Sr. Software Engineer within the Software Technology Solutions Division (STS) to design, implement, and scale cloud/on‑prem software across Linux/Windows environments.

You will collaborate across teams, mentor juniors, and contribute to agile delivery while maintaining high code quality and performance. The role emphasizes owning complex architectures, leading data-centric initiatives, and aligning with BD’s healthcare focus.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience building large-scale software applications, preferably in healthcare.
• 2+ years of experience implementing solutions in AWS.
• Experience owning large, complex system architecture and hands-on crafting/implementing solutions for large-scale systems.
• Strong programming experience in Java and Go.
• Experience in unit and integration testing.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data workflows that support business needs on Cloud-based systems.
• Propose architecture enabling integration of disparate enterprise data.
• Lead multi-functional design sessions to understand data requirements and use cases.
• Develop and document data movement standards and promote them across the department.
• Drive long-term data architecture roadmaps aligned with corporate objectives.
• Conduct code and design reviews to ensure data standards and best practices are met.
• Educate others on modern data engineering concepts and design.
• Mentor junior team members.
• Participate in all aspects of agile software development—design, implementation, deployment, and production support.
• Plan and lead engineers to deliver features in a fast-paced environment.
• Ensure the stack is customer-centric and supports product strategy.
