Job summary

Toast is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the GTM & AI Strategy Engineering team in the United States. You will be a hands-on technical lead building 0-to-1 tools and productionizing agentic workflows and RAG pipelines to automate sales processes.

You’ll architect high-performance backend services, integrate AI services with Salesforce and data lakes, and ensure observability and scalability as you turn high-level goals into production-ready code.

Qualifications

• Deep backend expertise in Java, Go, Python and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience building LLM agents in production.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and data flow across systems.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

Responsibilities

• Architect and code high-performance backend services and ML pipelines.
• Prototype 0-to-1 internal products using LLMs and Agentic AI.
• Integrate AI services with Salesforce and data lakes for low-latency end-to-end experiences.
• Ensure observability and performance monitoring across GTM stack.
• Build decoupled backend systems to evolve with AI strategy.
• Deliver production-ready code that scales with business needs.
