Job summary

Unity Technologies in Bellevue is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to lead the delivery of cloud services powering the next-gen game creation platform. You will design scalable cloud features, build front-end elements for high-performance systems, and optimize cloud services for scale.

You will work with AI tools like Claude Code, drive technical direction, and collaborate with AI, infrastructure, and data teams to shape Unity's AI strategy and cloud architecture.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering scalable cloud services and cloud-based features.
• Designing performant full-stack systems (frontend / cloud / devops).
• Familiar with GCP services; Azure exposure is a plus.
• Expertise using AI developer tools (e.g., Claude Code).
• Ability to drive technical direction and align with leadership on strategy.
• Knowledge of cloud service design patterns and architecture for cloud apps.
• Experience with Kubernetes / K8s and KCL.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver cloud-based services and features for the platform.
• Build front-end features as part of high-performance full-stack systems.
• Optimize cloud services for scalability and performance.
• Apply cloud design patterns and architecture best practices to cloud apps.
• Use AI developer tools (e.g., Claude Code) daily in engineering work.
• Handle DevOps tasks: CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and DB maintenance.
• Set technical direction within the team and align with leadership.
• Collaborate with AI, infrastructure, and data teams.
