Unity Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build and operate the platform behind an internal AI product analytics agent used across Unity teams. The role focuses on backend services, APIs, access control and scalable infrastructure, with responsibilities spanning reliability, cost and governance.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, building and operating distributed systems in production.
• Strong backend and systems engineering skills, with API design and reliability focus.
• Familiarity with cloud-native infra and access control in sensitive data contexts.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate the backend services, APIs and self-service tooling used by Unity teams.
• Own access control and data security for the platform: authentication, authorisation, permissioning and auditability.
• Build and harden the platform's integration surfaces and MCP server for governed data exposure to AI tools.
• Improve reliability, performance and cost efficiency including latency, scaling and observability.
• Raise the engineering bar: service design, testing, CI/CD, infrastructure as code and deployment safety.
• Contribute to agent capability work end to end: orchestration and knowledge retrieval.
• Collaborate with data scientists to translate platform needs into reusable capabilities.
• Help set roadmap and technical direction for the platform.
