Job summary

Orum is seeking a Staff Full-Stack Engineer to lead end-to-end delivery for a real-time, high-scale live calling platform. You’ll architect and evolve backend services, APIs and authentication, mentoring engineers while prioritizing simplicity, performance, and reliability.

You’ll influence product direction alongside PM and Design, shaping a scalable, data-driven roadmap. You’ll join the Product Platform team, working on CRM integrations and data flows to keep systems in sync, delivering

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Staff-level scope across multiple teams (leadership, strategy, delivery)
• Expertise with TypeScript/Node.js and API development (REST, WebSocket, gRPC)
• Hands-on experience implementing authentication/authorization (OAuth2, JWT, RBAC)
• Strong product mindset and clear communication linking decisions to business impact
• Nice to have: cloud infra (GCP/AWS/Azure), CI/CD, telephony/real-time domains

Responsibilities

• Own complex product areas end-to-end—from discovery to deployment and iteration.
• Lead architecture and system design for backend and API systems supporting real-time workflows.
• Author clear technical design docs and set standards for quality, performance, and observability.
• Collaborate with PM/Design/Engineers to translate requirements into performant experiences.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews and pairing to raise the bar on craftsmanship.
• Improve developer experience and reliability across APIs, data contracts, and testing.
• Participate in on-call and uphold operational excellence for owned areas.
