Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with staff-level, hands-on builder credentials.
• Experience owning ambiguous, high-stakes systems end-to-end through launch and operations.
• Experience in regulated environments such as banking, payments, or finance.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools and agentic workflows.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction across the bank's systems and core surfaces; define long-term strategy.
• Own the hardest problems end-to-end; design, build, and operate high-stakes components.
• Maintain code and design review standards; elevate engineering proficiency across the team.
• Ship AI-first capabilities; leverage AI tools to improve code quality and velocity.
• Lead vendor evaluation, integration, and ongoing oversight of third-party platforms.
• Define integration boundaries between the bank and affirm inc to ensure regulatory separation.
• Build for examiners by aligning with legal, compliance, risk, and audit expectations.
