Job summary

Collectors is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own end-to-end architecture for our NestJS/TypeScript microservices and Next.js frontends. You will drive migration from Java/Spring Boot and PHP monoliths, design scalable service boundaries, data ownership, and migration paths across the product ecosystem (grading, marketplace, payments, CRM).

You will lead projects across 1–2 quarters, mentor engineers, set security, testing, and observability standards, and champion AI-assisted engineering

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing and leading large-scale software architectures.
• Strong background migrating legacy PHP/Java systems to modern microservices.
• Excellent collaboration and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction and architecture for the team's domain end-to-end.
• Lead modernization efforts, manage migration from PHP/Java to TypeScript services.
• Mentor engineers, promote knowledge sharing, and raise AI fluency across the org.
