Job summary

Collectors is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead modernization of Beckett's tech stack, including NestJS/TypeScript microservices and Next.js frontends, while integrating legacy PHP workflows.

You will own end-to-end architecture, drive cross-team design, enforce security and testing standards, and foster AI-assisted engineering across the organization.

Based in Santa Ana, CA with potential on-site collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expert backend engineering in TypeScript/Node.js and/or Java across a polyglot stack.
• Full-stack experience with React/Next.js, APIs, and relational databases.
• Experience modernizing legacy systems and building scalable services.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction and end-to-end architecture for team domain.
• Lead modernization across monoliths, migrations, and service replacements.
• Ensure security, testing, observability, and operational excellence.
• Drive AI-assisted engineering and tool adoption across the org.
• Mentor engineers and coordinate cross-team delivery.
