Job summary

Beckett is the trusted authority in sports card and collectibles grading, pricing, and marketplace services. Our platform is mid-transformation: a new generation of NestJS/TypeScript microservices and Next.js frontends is actively replacing a prior generation of Java/Spring Boot services, while two large legacy PHP monoliths still power critical grading and e-commerce workflows.

Qualifications

Experience leading end-to-end architecture of services across multiple stacks.
Ability to design scalable systems during migrations (NestJS/TypeScript, Next.js, Java/Spring to PHP).
Experience mentoring engineers and guiding cross-team collaboration.
Strong focus on security, observability, testing, and reliability.
Experience with AI-assisted engineering is a plus.

Responsibilities

Own the architecture of your team's domain end to end: services, data flows, integration points, and failure modes.
Lead modernization work, define migration paths, and ensure safe cutovers.
Plan and deliver projects spanning 1–2 quarters with stakeholders and engineers.
Foster knowledge sharing and documentation across the organization.
Raise the org's AI fluency by sharing workflows, prompts, and tooling.
