Job summary

Collectors Universe is modernizing its technology stack by rebuilding our platform as TypeScript microservices and Next.js frontends. We’re seeking a senior software engineer to own features from database schema through API to UI in a fast-paced team.

You will design production-ready solutions, build backend services with NestJS and TypeORM on PostgreSQL, develop frontend with Next.js, and help migrate legacy Java and PHP into modern services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production full-stack web applications.
• Advanced proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js (NestJS/Express) or strong motivation to work in TypeScript/Java.
• Strong relational database skills (PostgreSQL/MySQL): schema design, query optimization, ORM usage.
• Proven frontend engineering experience with React/Next.js: component architecture, state management, SSR/ISR.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship production-ready solutions across multiple products, not just a single service.
• Develop backend services with NestJS/TypeORM on PostgreSQL and frontend features in Next.js/React.
• Contribute to modernization by migrating from legacy Java/Spring Boot and PHP monoliths to modern services.
• Apply security, testing, documentation, and monitoring best practices as standard practice.
• Deploy and operate services on AWS (ECS, Lambda) using Docker and IaC (CDK/ Terraform) with CI/CD.
