Job summary

Collectors is seeking a senior software engineer to join the Grading Operations software engineering team. You will own complex projects from concept to production, building backend services, APIs, and data models that power the grading and authentication systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience building production applications.
• 5+ years experience / strong proficiency in C# and .NET.
• Routine use of AI tooling as part of how you design and build software.
• Track record delivering projects when requirements were unclear.
• Mentoring strong engineers and improving team designs.
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and service integrations.
• Experience writing and maintaining automated tests for production services.
• Strong fundamentals with relational databases and data.

Responsibilities

• Take on complex, loosely defined projects and own their design from sketch to production.
• Build backend services, APIs, and data models powering internal applications.
• Work across architectures from containerized .NET to serverless APIs and Python jobs.
• Design and implement event-driven and asynchronous systems for reliable data flow.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews and problem-solving approaches.
• Contribute to frontend development with JavaScript, TypeScript, and Vue.js.
• Collaborate with Product, Tech, and Operations to translate requirements into designs.
• Maintain and troubleshoot a large, long-lived codebase, and support on-call rotations.
