Job summary

Beckett seeks an accomplished Staff Software Engineer to lead the architecture and technical direction for its multilang, microservices-based platform. You will own end-to-end design across NestJS/TypeScript, Java, PHP, and legacy PHP monoliths, driving modernization while maintaining live traffic.

You’ll influence security, testing, and observability, and spearhead AI-assisted engineering initiatives. The role spans backend and frontend considerations, data stores, and cloud infrastructure,

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with technical leadership of multi-engineer projects.
• Expert-level backend engineering in TypeScript/Node.js and/or Java, with multi-language exposure (TypeScript, Java 21, PHP, Python, C#).
• Full-stack experience across React/Next.js frontends, API/services layers, relational data stores, and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction and own the architecture across your team's domain end-to-end.
• Lead modernization efforts including strangler pattern migrations and service extractions from monoliths.
• Drive security, testing, observability, and operational excellence across the stack.
• Lead adoption of AI-assisted engineering tools and establish guardrails for safe, productive usage.
