Job summary

ModMed is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the IAM vision, architecture, and deployment of our enterprise identity platform. You will own core identity services, customize Keycloak, and scale authentication and authorization across the ecosystem.

You’ll bridge Java backend, IAM protocols, cloud-native GitOps, and AI-driven software practices to accelerate development, mentor engineers, and drive secure, scalable solutions for millions of users.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with leadership at Staff/Principal level in IAM, Security or Core Infrastructure.
• Deep hands-on experience extending, scaling, and operating Keycloak in production.
• Experience incorporating AI tools and LLM workflows into software development.

Responsibilities

• Drive the IAM roadmap and architecture for centralized authentication and authorization platforms.
• Design, build, and maintain custom Keycloak extensions and high-performance services in Java.
• Architect robust SCIM integrations and integrate audit logging with SIEM systems.
• Automate identity infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, Helm, and ArgoCD.
