Job summary

ModMed (Modernizing Medicine) is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a high‑performing team focused on our enterprise Identity & Access Management platform. You will balance technical leadership, team management, and operations to ensure top‑tier security, high performance, and reliable deployments.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of engineering management in backend/platform teams and 5+ years of hands-on software development, with strong OO design, architecture, and CI/CD expertise.

Qualifications

• 3+ years engineering management experience leading backend or platform teams.
• 5+ years hands-on software development experience.
• Strong OO language design and backend systems background.
• Solid software architecture knowledge to guide design decisions.
• Deep understanding of modern software testing and CI/CD workflows.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow an engineering team with a culture of excellence.
• Own identity services and Keycloak extension workstreams; support UAT and quality validation.
• Participate in design reviews and challenge architectural assumptions for scalability.
• Drive automated testing and zero-downtime deployment pipelines.
• Collaborate with Security, Compliance and Product to align delivery goals.
• Balance technical leadership with operational execution to meet SLA targets.
